Bank robbing is a federal offense. You got me on kidnapping, armed robbery. You're gonna bury me, man!
(1975)
Possibly Pacino's greatest performance; he certainly didn't make another film approaching this level of quality until his return in the '90s. Sidney Lumet steers affairs with awesome confidence.
Something I only really noticed this time round – there’s a complete absence of music apart from the opening montage. There is a solid documentary on the 2-disc DVD, including Lance Henrikson as a welcome talking head. This is also Chris Sarandon's main claim to greatness (though he was quite enjoyable in The Princess Bride) and it's always fantastic to see Carol Kane in anything.
