I don’t dislike Sofia Coppola's languorous style of film making, but I'm not sure she has anything much to say (certainly not enough to win the Venice Film Festival, so Tarantino was probably looking for a shag off his ex).
Both Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning are fine as the leads, but as far as I could tell this is about a bored movie actor who realises his life is empty when he spends some time with his daughter.
And that's it. It's merely okay, as the recognition of the character’s emptiness doesn’t make it either particularly profound or affecting.
