Well-sustained action (although Daniel Espinosa's Bourne-esque direction occasionally disintegrates due to incoherent staging) keep the latest Denzel-phones-it-in watchable.
That and the South African locale. The script is fairly nonsensical (are we really to believe that the CIA cannot muster any additional teams in the country to aid Ryan Reynolds?), and makes a meal of concealing the obvious villain of the piece before throwing us a terrible ending as dessert.
One of those where you only become conscious of how risible it all is on the few occasions it stops moving.
