Salt
(2010)
Ludicrous but entertaining formerly-Tom Cruise spy vehicle. Angelina runs around, or is chased about, kicking
ass with her spindly limbs like an aggressive stick insect.
There's a point about halfway through where you think it might actually do something (relatively)
original, but that soon passes. Philip Noyce's sure direction is a key to
making this work, with clearly staged and edited action sequences, and it's
probably as well he does so with a poker face as it wouldn't take much to fly
off into parody. Dependable as ever Liev Schreiber is a welcome supporting
player.
