(2008)
Another troubled
production for Gregor Jordan. He directs this Bret Easton Ellis adaptation (I
haven't read the book), which is more Less
than Zero than Rules of Attraction/American Psycho in terms of how well it
translates to the screen.
There's little to hold
the attention; a few scenes between Mickey Rourke and Brad Renfro, Chris Isaak
convincingly acting the asshole, Winona Ryder suddenly looking very old. And,
while the point maybe one of unlikeable self-obsessed types being unlikeable,
it needs something or someone to make it actually interesting. Amber Heard is
naked a lot, though.
